Data Visualization Tools (DVTs)

Data Visualization Tools Pick a Tool from the list below. When you select a tool you'll be sent to a page that will launch the Java applet. These applets use the version of Java that comes with Netscape & Internet Explorer browsers version 4 or higher.
	Color Mapper	creates an interactive color map combined with a line plot for any 2 of the RUSS sampling parameters
	Profile Plotter	creates interactive line plots of the RUSS data collected from the WOW study lakes
These first 2 tools communicate with the server to get the RUSS data as needed. They launch quickly and use little memory on your computer. In contrast, the DVT toolkit will load all of the RUSS data for the lakes you select prior to running. This is why the DVT toolkit will take longer to start than the individual Color Mapper and Profile Plotter applets. On the bright side, after the data are loaded the tools will run more quickly because they no longer have to communicate with the WOW server. Plus, you have the option of storing the DVT toolkit and the latest RUSS data on your computer so you can run the tools even when you are not connected to the Internet.
	DVT toolkit	We have combined three tools (applets) into one package called DVToolkit.
The DVToolkit includes modified versions of the Profile Plotter and Color Mapper applets. It also includes another tool called the DxT Profiler (Depth vs Time Profiler). The DxT Profiler graphically shows how the lake data collected by our RUSS units changes over time.
